Dear Ryan Sullivan of WP Site Care,
I’ve known and referred clients to WP Site Care over the years. You guys are among some of the very best companies succeeding in the WordPress Entrepreneur Ecosystem and for a good reason: you actually care!
If there is one thing I know for sure running a creative design studio, it’s that it takes a team of people to do ALL THE THINGS… great design, development, content creation, UX, UI, SEO, advertising, account management, Google adwords, ecommerce, marketing, training, product development, and maintenance …. so it’s great to know who you can rely on and for what!
Here is where my gratitude message begins for everyone…
I like to attend a couple of quality tech conferences every year. This year I was really hoping to attend PressNomics. A focused conference known as The conference for those that power the WordPress Economy by Pagely®.
I work with and follow a lot of these people/companies in Slack and on Twitter etc… heck I even hold developer licenses for many of their products and collaborate with some of them professionally.
I love this stuff!!
It is a decent investment to attend this conference and a long trip across the country for me.
Unfortunately, last fall I was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo surgery and chemotherapy for 18 long weeks. I just could not fully commit to attending the conference with all that cancer treatment does to ones family, finances and schedule. I had a tumor 7 years ago and went through the same treatment so I knew what to expect this time. Treatment has been painful but ultimately it has also been successful! I could not have gotten through it again without the support of my husband, family, friends, and colleagues. It’s just too much for one person. I completed my last chemotherapy session 4 weeks ago today defeating ovarian cancer once again. It was successful and I am currently cancer free. YAY!! I’m also bald and working hard to keep up with getting enough physical activity, (I’m a runner) along with client work, creative projects, and my life in general.
Several weeks ago, Ryan Sullivan of WP Site Care posted on Twitter that he was unable to attend PressNomics and he was giving his ticket, his hotel room, covering flight expenses (USA only) , and providing a cash stipend for someone who may represent an under-represented role at the conference. Plus, he would decide in a short period of time – the next day. As an Art/Creative Director I think it is important to work with this group of Tech Professionals and I sent the direct message to Ryan hoping he would consider sending me. I was also hoping to be be recovered enough to be able to really take in the conference fully too! Fortunately, both Ryan’s generosity and my health have conspired to pave the way for a little trip to Arizona to enjoy the people and the sunshine!

If you are attending PressNomics, I can’t wait to meet YOU in person! I’m feeling great but I’m still bald so I may be wearing a blonde or a brunette wig or a baseball cap or a bandana – lol! I like to change it up and I want you to know that I am healthy again and excited to meet everyone so please do not hesitate to tap me on the shoulder or connect with me in the hallways. I want to get to know more about all of you and your work and projects!
